Yellow Warning Issued, Rain Likely To Lash Odisha In Next 24 hours

Bhubaneswar, July 1: Rain is likely to lash different places across Odisha in the next 24 hours, according to the prediction of the India Meteorological Department. 

Rain continues to occur due to the impact of a low-pressure area active in the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal parts of Odisha.  The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning for heavy rains to occur in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayubhanj, Baleswar, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Koraput.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as the low pressure has remained active. 

The State witnessed 26 percent less rain than normal in June. While Mayurbhanj got the lowest quantum of rain, 16 districts recorded 20 to 59 percent less rainfall, while 12 others received normally.
