Sundargarh, Nov 29: The Vigilance officials on Wednesday apprehended an In-charge Revenue Inspector (RI) of Tasaladihi under Tangarpali Tehsil in Odisha's Sundargarh district for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
The accused In-charge RI has been identified as Lily Choudhury.
Today, short while ago, Smt. Lily Choudhury, In-charge R.I.(Revenue Inspector), Tasaladihi, Tangarpali Tahasil, #Sundargarh has been apprehended by #Odisha #Vigilance while taking bribe Rs.5,000/- from a Complainant to submit enquiry report in his favour in a conversion case.

According to Vigilance sources, the accused In-charge RI had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to submit an enquiry report for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land in his favour.
However, the complainant approached the Vigilance Department and sought action against the accused official.
Based on the complaint, the vigilance officials laid a trap and held Lily Choudhury red-handed while she was accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe from the complainant, said a vigilance official.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the accused and seized, he added.

In this connection, a case has been registered against Lily Choudhury at Rourkela Vigilance police station under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation was underway, the Vigilance official said.
