Bhubaneswar, July 25: A woman journalist allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a running  train here in Odisha on Wednesday evening. The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the mutilated body of the woman from the railway tracks near Bapuji Nagar in the city.

The deceased has been identified as Madhusmita Parida. She was working for a web channel and staying at a rented house in Bapuji Nagar.

In a video shared on her instagram page before her death, Madhusmita claimed that her husband was having an affair with another woman and refused to live with her.

“My husband is involved in an extramarital affair with another woman. He is unwilling to remain with me. Many attempts were made to resolve the issue, but in vain. I apologize to Mammi (Mother) and all, but I can no longer bear this,” Madhusmita said in the video.

Madhusmita's husband Sridhar Jena, however, denied any such major discord between them.

The GRP and Capital Police started an investigation into the incident.
