"We Have Achieved Target Of Zero Casualty": CM Majhi On Cyclone Dana

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: As the cyclone Dana made a landfall in Odisha in the early hours of Friday, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred in isolated places at Odisha and heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi confirmed that no reports of casualties were recorded and the target of zero casualty was achieved due to proper planning and execution.

Speaking to the media, Majhi said "There has been no report of any casualty anywhere. We have achieved the target of zero casualty due to proper planning and execution. We have shifted more than six lakh people to safer places. Airport service have become normal. The first flight in the state landed at 9 a.m. today and all road blockage will be cleared by 1 p.m. today."

The National Disaster Response Force also uprooted trees in Dhamra as the restoration work in the area continued.
Meanwhile, people took refuge at a shelter in Balasore where food was distributed to them.

Earlier today, the Indian Railways confirmed that all the trains will run as per the schedule, except the cancelled trains, which were notified earlier in the cyclone Dana-affected states.
