Villager Trampled To Death By Tusker In Sundargarh Jungle

Sundargarh, July 1: A villager was reportedly trampled to death by a wild elephant at Jharipani slum under the Koida forest range in Sundargarh district early this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Samuel Sainda. 

According to the information, Samuel, a village youth, was defecating on a field when a tusker approached him and attacked him with its trunk. As he fell to the ground the pachyderm pressed him under his feet.

Informed by villagers, forest personnel visited the spot and conducted an inquiry.
