Sambalpur, Oct 13: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan offered prayers at Maa Samaleswari Temple here in Odisha on Sunday morning on the auspicious occasion of Dusshera.
“On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, it was my good fortune to have the darshan of Goddess Maa Samaleswari, the presiding deity of Sambalpur. Maa is a discernible goddess. May her blessings fill all of our lives with happiness and joy,” Pradhan, the Lok Sabha MP from Sambalpur, wrote on X.

On Saturday evening, Pradhan attended the “Ravan Dahan” programme at Ainthapali here. He was seen symbolically performing Ravan Dahan (burning of effigies of demon King Ravan) by shooting an arrow from a bow.
The famous Durga Puja is celebrated in Odisha and different parts of the country as a victory of good over evil and Maa Durga is considered as a symbol of shakti.
