Nabarangpur, Nov 30: There would be barely anyone who doesn't know of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Hosted by actor Amitabh Bachchan, KBC has become an unianimous hit among the Indians and has reached season 15. Many contestants over the years have tried to get selected in the show and grab the Crorepati title by answering the questions.

Recently, Saswat Pattnaik (13) of Umerkote in Nabarangpur district reached the hot seat and won Rs 12,50,000 from the coveted competition. A student of Class 8 in Adarsh Vidyalaya, Pattnaik participated in the KBC 15 Junior, a format for the children. Saswat decided to quit the show when he was bowled the question 'Which 17th century scientist created the first known scientific deamp-scription of a dinosaur fossil?' thus taking home Rs 12,50,000.

His happiness knew no bounds when he received a call from the quiz show. In a first for Umerkote, Saswat has made the citizens and Odisha proud for this achievement. Saswat was successful in impressing Mr. Bachchan with his game, thus receiving accolades from him.

He said he regards Mr. Bachchan as his role model. He said ,"Bachchan sir kept his hand on my shoulder and chatted with me off-screen also."

"I draw inspiration from my father, who has been trying for the past 23 years to play the game. This year he asked me to participate in the game, and by Lord Jagannath's grace I got through the process and received a call from KBC team", said Saswat.

He added," I want to thank my mother also for instilling the Odia culture in me. She helped me to balance my emotions and not get overwhelmed by the competition. My mother says Participation is more important than winning."

It is worth mentioning that when Saswat got selected for the hot seat after playing the fastest finger first he hailed 'Jai Jagannath' multiple times.
