Truck Burnt As Cooking With LPG Causes Spread Of Fire

Koraput, Apr 7: Cooking with LPG in long-route truck turned dangerous as the vehicle caught fire and was damaged at Kotpad in Korapur district today. 

According to the information, the truck was stationary on National Highway-63 near Kotpad College and the driver was cooking his meal in its cabine when a fire spread all of a sudden. Seeing the blaze, the driver jumped off the truck. 

Some passersby called the fire brigade to the site. After an hour's attempt, the fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire.

However, more than 50 per cent of the truck had been damaged by the time the fire was extinguished. 

Later, a 15 kg LPG cylinder was recovered from the truck. 

On being informed, the local police reached the spot and started an investigation.
