Three Maoists From Chhattisgarh Surrender In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri, June 20: Three Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before senior police officers in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thursday.

According to police sources, three red rebels, identified as Adama Madvi, Deba Madvi and Muka Sodi of Konta area in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri.

The surrendered rebels were members of Gram Raksha Dal (GRD) of Maoists organisation, and working as Militia. They used to send information to the Maoists and were also involved in several violent activities in Odisha-Chhattisgarh border area, sources said.

The trio decided to shun violence and returned to the mainstream after the establishment of a CRPF camp at Dabakonda in Sukma district followed by the anti-Maoist operation in the area, police said.
