Sambalpur, Nov 19: In a breakthrough decision, the State government suspended three forest officials in connection with the electrocution of three wild elephants in a Sambalpur jungle recently.

Besides, the committee has recommended government action against two senior forest officers- Railakhole DFO and Nakatideula Ranger- concerning the deaths.

Earlier, the forest department arrested three of four identified poachers. Officials are now searching for the fourth poacher.

It may be noted that three wild pachyderms were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electric wire spread by miscreants to trap wild boars.
