Mohana, Sept 29: In a tragic mishap, a youth was killed after his bike and a pickup van collided head-on at Sukhila Amba under Mohana police station limits in Gajapati district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sujit Nayak, son of Sanatan Nayak of Adaba village under Adaba police station. 
Sujit is believed to have died at the accident spot. He was declared dead later in the nearby hospital. 

Tension prevailed in the area as locals staged a road blockade, demanding adequate compensation for the deceased's family. Vehicular movement was disrupted on the Mohan-Rayagad main road. 

Police were trying to persuade the angry mob to withdraw from the agitation and clear the road for traffic movement.
