Balasore, Dec 17: Tension ran high as a person was killed in a road accident at Bhalukasuni on Nilgiri-Kaptipada State Highway-19 early Tuesday morning. 

According to information, a biker was going from Nilagri to Kaptipada when a tanker ran over him at Bhalukauni. The biker reportedly died on the spot. 

While the tanker sped up, locals soon followed the vehicle and managed to intercept it Seragada. However, the driver jumped from the vehicle and fled. 

While tension persisted, police reached the spot and convinced the angry mob to clear the road. 

The identity of the deceased was yet to be known.
