Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: Former Rajya Sabha member and BJP leader Sujit Kumar Thursday demanded re-investigation of the schoolteacher Mamita Meher murder case and punishment for the real culprits.
Sujit Kumar suggested this to the State government in an exclusive interview with the Argus News after he was welcomed at the party's State head office today. Kumar resigned from the Rajya Sabha member post and the prime membership of BJD and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party recently.
"Let an investigation into the Mamata Mehera murder case be conducted again and all culprits punished soon," Kumar demanded.
Notably, deceased Mamita's mother has once again demanded a CBI investigation into the heinous crime. Former Minister and BJD leader Dibya Shankar Mishra was allegedly named to be an accused in the murder case.
The family members also alleged that the main accused in the case, Gobinda Sahu, was killed in a planned manner to suppress their daughter's murder. High-profile BJD leaders were behind the death of Sahu, they alleged.
