Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha government is set to release new guidelines for its flagship scheme, Subhadra Yojana, aimed at benefiting those women whose applications were previously rejected.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday said a high-level meeting will soon be convened to discuss eligibility criteria and ways to include the “left out” applicants.
"Around 2.67 lakh women beneficiaries, whose applications were previously cancelled for various reasons, will be re-verified so that not a single eligible beneficiary is excluded," Parida said.
“The verification process will be conducted at the block level by designated officials,” she added saying that the third phase of the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana will be launched soon.
Subhadra Yojana, was was launched on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The State government has decied to provide assistance of Rs 50,000 over five years to more than 1 crore eligible women.
Nearly 60 lakh women have benefited from the scheme, receiving Rs 5,000 during the first two phases, so far.
