Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: Giving update on Subhadra Yojana developments, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has said that the government is focussing on the districts with most rejected applications.

"We are currently focussing on those districts, where the number of registrations (for Subhadra Yojana) is quite low and the number of rejections is high," stated Parida, who is also in charge of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism departments.

She said that the number of rejected applications is more than number of registrations in Malkangiri, Gajapati and Koraput. "The verification process began yesterday (Wednesday) in Malkangiri," informed the Deputy CM, adding that the verification works will end within 15 days.

Parida said that a team has reached in Malkangiri Wednesday for the verification process. "We found out that two panchayats in two blocks in the district have many rejected applications," said the Women and Child Development Minister.

The verifications are being conducted under the leadership of CDPO and the process will end within 15 days. "Whoever is eligible, will get the Subhadra Yojana money," said Pravati Parida.

It is suspected that people who couldn't register the first time for the Odisha Government's flagship scheme due to server issue, didn't apply for the second time and that's why the number of rejection is on a higher side.

"We are expecting 5,000 more applications in every district , which will help us achieve our target," said Pravati Parida. "So far, the number of application is around one crore and six lakh," she added.

The Deputy CM also informed that only 22 per cent verification is completed. She also said that women who recently completed 21 (age), are eligible to apply for Subhadra Yojana benifits.
