Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: Odisha government will soon recruit as many as 5,000 doctors to expand the health services in the State and provide better healthcare facilities to the people, State’s Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Saturday.
Additionally, two new medical colleges will be opened soon in the State, said the Minister.
Minister Harichandan said this while addressing the “Argus Odisha Health Connect Season-III”, a day-long conclave organized by Argus News, here.
Harichandan graced the conclave as the chief guest and inaugurated the event. Addressing the event, he said, “Odisha Government has initiated measures to maintain patient-doctor ratio in the State. Process has already been initiated to appoint 5,000 doctors. There are 12 Govt medical colleges in the State. Two more medical colleges will be inaugurated soon. Medical College will be established in all 30 districts.”
“Health awareness is very important. There is a high prevalence of hypertension, diabetics, and cancer patients in rural areas. It can be prevented through proper awareness,” he added.
The Argus Odisha Health Connect Season-III”, a day-long conclave organized by Argus News, is underway at a private hotel here. The conclave is designed to foster innovation and drive meaningful exchange of ideas in the healthcare landscape in Odisha.
