Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: BJP leaders and activists of Odisha seem to have woken up to full vigor to make the proposed visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the State a grand success in the interest of the party.

PM Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on February 3 and again on February 10. He will inaugurate the permanent campus of the IIM Sambalpu on February 3 and address a huge Mahila Samabesh in Bhubaneswar on February 10.

"We are eagerly waiting for our distinguished Prime Minister to come to Odisha on February 3 and then on February 10. The PM's visit will certainly double the encouragement of party leaders and activists ahead of 2024 elections," said BJP State President Manmohan Samal.

Samal said party leaders and activists are eagerly waiting to welcome the Prime Minister, who is scheduled to grace the inauguration ceremony of the IIM Sambalpur on February 3.

Regarding his second visit in February, Samal said the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Puri and pay his obeisance to Lord Jagannath on the February 10 morning. Later he will address a grand women's rally at Bhubaneswar. About 25 thousand women activists from 14 States will participate in the rally, he said.

Ahead of his visit, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also started meeting party workers at different places. He attended a booth-level public relations campaign at Chandasekharpur in Bhubaneswar. Later, he too attended a huge road show at Pipili.

Pradhan said the people of Odisha have already given a signal to change the government in the State. People have built trust in the Modi guarantee, he added.

It may be mentioned here that the BJP emerged as the No.2 political party in Odisha by pushing Congress to third position in the 2019 general elections. The BJP's vote share increased from 33% in 2014 to 38% in 2019. It got eight MP seats in 2019 against one in 2014. The party swept all 5 MP seats in western Odisha.  In Lok Sabha polling, the vote difference between the BJD and the BJP was only 10 lakh.

The saffron party registered a grand victory in Chhattisgarh in the recently held elections. Bordering areas of Chhattisgarh, where a good percentage of Odia people reside, voted in favour of the BJP. With the PM's visit to Sambalpur, the Modi wave will certainly work in 2024 elections in Odisha and fetch more than 50 percent votes for the BJP. The BJP will form government in Odisha in 2024, assert BJP leaders.
