Vadodara, Oct 29: Begona Gomez, wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, visited Parul University as a guest Monday.
Gomez received a warm welcome from the students. She also joined the students in playing Garba.
Gomez engaged with the founders of 12 student-led startups across various fields, from technology to healthcare.
She reportedly looked into the resources available to the students, who are aspiring to be entrepreneurs. The resources include guidence, financial aspect of their projects as well as the support they are getting to launch their ideas in the market.
The incubation center of the Parul University was earlier shortlisted by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to exhibit the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country. Parul University is among the four centres in the country selected by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Gomez made interactions with the students, who are the founders of the ventures such as MedRef Healthbridge, Yield Pro Earth Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Cardio, Dori Handcrafts, Plantpact Innovations Pvt. Ltd., IndieSemiC Pvt. Ltd., ECorrect Pvt. Ltd. and others.
The ventures represent sectors like technology, healthcare, sustainable energy and agriculture.
Gaining insights into the diverse approaches of these start-ups by the students, Gomez heaped praise on the founders as well as the University.
“You are doing an incredible job in terms of entrepreneurship and innovation. I’m thrilled to engage with such passionate young innovators. Entrepreneurship is truly the need of the hour, capable of solving many major global issues,” said Gomez while addressing the students.
Notably, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is on a three-day visit to India. He is accompanied by his wife, Begona Gomez. Earlier Monday, Sanchez, along with PM Narendra Modi, inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex for the Made-in-India C-295 aircraft.
