Bhubaneswar, Sept 29: The sensitive Smitaranj 'murder' case will be reopened and reinvestigated, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday.
"Smitarani is a woman who was allegedly used and 'murdered' by low-profile BJD leaders. Is it a respect to mothers," asked the Chief Minister.
Majhi said his government would reopen and reinvestigate the case based on a request received from Smitarani's husband.
"Our government will investigate the case and take stern action against all those involved in the crime," said the Chief Minister.
Majhi attended his party BJP's membership drive at Badachana. He criticized the Congress and the BJD for adopting nepotism. "Son has taken power after mother in the Congress and son after father in the BJD," ridiculed Majhi.
Majhi said the long 24 years had hurt the people.
He alleged that three families have looted Jajpur. BJD has ruined Jajpur in the name of development.
