Similipal Tiger Reserve To Get Another Tigress Soon

Mayurbhanj, Nov 7: A second female Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) will be brought to the Similipal sanctuary soon. A team from the Forest Department has already arrived at Maharashtra's Tadoba- Andhari Tiger Reserve. 

The 10-member team led by ACF Pradeep Dey is camping in the reserve forest to catch and bring a female RBT, informed Similipal Tiger Reserve Field Director and Regional Chief Conservator of Forest Dr Prakash Chand Gogineni.  

A team of veterinary doctors has also set out for Tadoba- Andhari Tiger Reserve. The team comprised Dr Abhilash Acharya, Deputy Range Officer Diptiman Panda and Squad Members, added Gogineni. 

Notably, a tigress, named 'Yamuna', was brought from outside and released in Odisha jungle successfully a few days back.
