Severe Heat Wave In Odisha: IMD Issues Red, Orange Warnings

Bhubaneswar, Apr 25: Severe heat wave conditions will continue over many parts in Odisha during the next five days, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

The IMD, in its midday bulletin today, issued  red and orange warnings of heat wave conditions over several districts till 8.30 AM on April 30.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha are as follows:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM on April 26)
Orange Warning (Be Prepared)
Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak.

Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Angul and Khordha.

Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Keonjhar and Sambalpur.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)
Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal and Cuttack.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM on April 26 to 8.30 AM on April 27)
Red Warning (Be Alert)
Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkal, Balangir, Nuapada and Kalahandi.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared)
Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail places over the districts of Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Khordha and Nayagarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM on April 27 to 8.30 AM on April 28)
Red Warning (Be Alert)
Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkal, Bhadrak, Khordha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Nuapda, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi and Boudh.

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Puri, Nayagarh, Deogarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Malkangiri.

Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkal, Bhadrak, Khordha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Nuapda, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi and Boudh.
