Sambalpur, Oct 3: Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari has raised concerns over irregularities in Aahaar Kendras after finding out about the issue, Thursday.

Pujari made a sudden visit to an Aahaar Kendra near Jail Chowk in Sambalpur at around 1 pm. He had a meal there along with general people. Pujari stood on queue after getting a token like a normal person.

His sudden visit was marred by disappointment as the Aahaar Kendra ran out of rice and dalma shortly after his arrival.

Many lower class people like labourers expressed their disappointment for not getting the food. They also shared the concern with the Revenue Minister.

Suresh Pujari then reportedly expressed his displeasure and questioned the Aahaar Kendra staff about the reason behind running out of food so soon.

He said that at what time the Aahaar Kendra opens that by 1 pm food -- 500 meals -- is running out. Needy people are going back disappointed without having food.

Speaking to the media persons, Suresh Pujari said that whether 500 meals are really being served or there are any irregularities going on, he will speak to the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner regarding the issue.
