Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi, Oct 30: A day after replicas of the Konark wheels were installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan in New Delhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday appreciated the initiative and said, “a matter of great pride, particularly for all Odias.”
“The Konark chakra at the Sun Temple in Konark symbolises continuity and progress. Konark Sun Temple is an outstanding example of India’s civilisational prowess and Odisha’s architectural magnificence. Replicas of Konark wheels at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan is a laudatory initiative to showcase and promote India’s rich culture, heritage and artistic brilliance. A matter of great pride, particularly for all Odias,” Pradhan posted on X.

As many as four replicas of the Konark wheels, made of sandstone, have been installed at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan in the national capital.
Installation of Konark wheels aims to showcase and promote the rich heritage of the country among visitors, the President's Secretariat said in a statement.
The Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the culmination of Odisha’s temple architecture. It was built in the shape of a colossal chariot carrying the Sun God in 13th century.
The Konark wheels are symbols of India’s cultural legacy.
