Puri, Aug 11: The dismantling of the three chariots of the Holy Trinity -- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra -- began here Sunday morning.
The chariots -- Nandighosa of Lord Jagannath, Taladhwaja of Lord Balabhadra and Darpadalana of Devi Subhadra -- were the rides of the deities for the Rath Yatra.
After getting the consent letter from Srimandir Administration, the dismantling of the chariots, following the tradtional rituals, gets underway under the leadership of Bhoi Sardar.
According to the tradition, Devi Subhadra's Darpadalana is being dismantled first, while Lord Balabhadra's Taladhwaja will be the second chariot to be dismantled. And the turn of Lord Jagannath's chariot -- Nandighosa -- will come last going by the traditional order.
After Bhoi Sardar began the proceeding with traditional rituals, the dismantling began with the 'Kalasa' -- a clay pot. Then comes the Para-Bhadi (wooden pidhas arranged one upon the another) before the dismantling of 'Dwara Bedha'.
