Rain, Thunderstorm & Lightning Likely In Odisha During Next 3 Days

Bhubaneswar, June 6: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar on Thursday predicted widespread rainfall activity accompanied by thunderstorms with lightning at many places in Odisha during the next three days.

The Meteorological Centre issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning over several districts of the State till June 23.

The IMD’s weather forecast for Odisha during next three days is as follows:

Day 1 (Valid Upto 8.30 AM of June 21)
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (To be updated)
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Khordha, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada.

Hot and humid weather condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 21 to 8.30 AM of June 22)
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (To be updated)
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of June 22 to 8.30 AM of June 22)
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at most places in the State.
Yellow Warning (To be updated)
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall has occurred at a few places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of North Interior & South Coastal Odisha and dry weather prevailed over the districts of North Coastal Odisha during the last 24 hours.
