Bhubaneswar, Sep 30: Several districts in Odisha are likely to witness a wet Dusshera this year as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted a fresh low-pressure in the Bay of Bengal on October 6 and followed by rainfall.

The IMD has predicted that the low pressure is likely to be formed in the west-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent areas by October 6 and, by its impact, heavy rainfall is likely to occur many places in Odisha.

It also forecast light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue over several districts in the State during the next seven days, bringing fears of dampening of the Dussehra celebrations.

Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami falls on October 11, while the Navami of Durga Puja and the Dashami will be celebrated on October 12 and 13 respectively.
