Puri, Feb 21: Devotees having physical disabilities can have a smooth Darshan of the deities in Shrimandir in the coming days if the plans of the temple authorities are implemented in the right way.

A decision to put in place a special system for the movement of persons with disabilities (PwDs) to the Jayabijaya Dwar was taken at a Chhatisha Nijog meeting yesterday.

According to the decision, the PwD devotees will enter the temple through the North gate, also known as Hasti Dwar or Elephant Gate. They will be carried on wheeled wooden chairs from the North Gate to the Jayabijay Dwar inside the temple.

At Jayabijaya Dwar, Pratihari Sevaks will help them have a darshan of the deities, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabadra, Devi Subhadra, and Chakraraj Sudarshan.

To visit the Shreemandir to get Darshan of the deities, the intending PwD devotees will have to register their names online.
It may be noted that a sloppy path has already been constructed inside the temple at the North Gate.
