Koraput, Nov 12: Thousands of devotees visited the Shabar Shreekshetra at Koraput to see Puri Rath Wheels that reached the shrine on Tuesday. 

A special festival-like event was marked at the Jagannath Temple of Shabar Shreekshetra as Puri Rath wheels arrived at the shrine. Today is perceived as a sacred day for Ekadashi Tithi of light fortnight of Kartika. 

On arrival, the wheels were taken in a procession around the city. The beating of drums and cymbals, Ghant, and trumpets created an atmosphere of devotion in the hilly town.  

The sacred wheels, bought from Puri Shreemandir at Rs 51,000, have been kept on the temporary Snan Mandap (Temporary Bathing Platform).
