Puri Bahuda Yatra: Elaborate Security Arrangement In Place To Ensure Smooth Conduct

Puri, July 15: To ensure smooth conduct of Bahuda Yatra Monday, an elaborate security measures have been taken in the city of Holy Trinity. 

Odisha ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar shed lights on the security arrangements being made for the auspicious occasion, saying the entire city is under CCTV surveillance. “All the arrangements have been made," said Kumar.

The deployment of forces began at 6 am. According Kumar, their "main concern is traffic". "This year, everyone is appreciating the traffic arrangements," Kumar added.

The ADG has said that the security arrangements have also been upgraded with an aim to ensure smooth conduct of the procession of the Holy Trinity -- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra -- in their chariots -- Nandighosa, Taladhwaja and Darpadalana, respectively.

“Adequate arrangements are in place. 180 platoons of police have been deployed, along with three companies of the RAF, two companies of the CRPF and eight teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG)," explained Kumar. 

In addition, Kumar said that all the security force staff are doing their duties properly with the entire city under CCTV surveillance, while the "AI is also functioning well.”

The Bahuda Yatra marks the end of the nine-day sojourn of deities, who will return to Shreemandir from Shree Gundicha Temple in their respective chariots pulled by the devotees.
