President Murmu, PM Modi, Odisha CM Extend Greetings On Nuakhai

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: President Draupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other dignitaries on Sunday extended their greetings to all on the occasion of the Nuakhai festival.

President Murmu wished that this festival brings happiness and prosperity in everyone's life.

In a post on X, President Murmu wrote, "I extend my heartfelt greetings of Nuakhai to all the countrymen, especially the people of Odisha. Nuakhai is a great festival of our agriculture-based life. It is also an occasion to express gratitude to the farmers of the country. I wish that this festival brings happiness and prosperity in everyone's life."

Prime Minister Modi took social media to extend his heartiest greetings of Nuakhai to all the countrymen.

"Nuakhai Juhar! My best wishes on the special occasion of Nuakhai. We express gratitude to our hardworking farmers and appreciate their efforts for our society. May everyone be blessed with joy and good health," PM Modi posted on X.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi also took to social media post on X and extended greetings on this occasion and wrote, "On the occasion of West Odisha's mass festival Nuakhai, Nuakhai Zuhar, I wish everyone's happiness and prosperity and wish for the welfare of the world."

Nuakhai Juhar is celebrated in western Odisha and southern Chattisgarh. The festival is observed to welcome the new season of rice. Nuakhai is a combination of two words that signifies the eating of new rice, 'Nua' means rice and 'khai' denotes eat.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also extended his greetings to the citizens of the state on this special festival that is dedicated towards agriculture.

Extending his greetings, he further prayed to the goddess Annapurna to bring happiness and prosperity in everyone's life.

Taking it to a social media post on X, Vishnu Deo Sai wrote, "Heartiest greetings to all of you on the occasion of Nuakhai festival, a symbol of the rich culture of Utkal society."

"This festival of the arrival of the new crop brings the message of new happiness and prosperity. We pray to Mother Annapurna that everyone's life should be filled with happiness and prosperity," he added.
