President Murmu Lays Stone For 3 Rly Projects, SDH, Airport, Tribal Research Centre In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj, Dec 7: President Droupadi Murmu laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 6,400 crore in Odisha on Saturday. 

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Union Tribals Minister Jual Oram were present at the meeting held at Bangiriposhi. 

The projects include three railway projects- Bangiriposh-Gorumahishani, Budhamara-Chakulia, and Badampahad- Keonjhargarh Rail Lines. These rail lines will connect Mayurbhanj with the rest of Odisha and the country. The president laid the foundation stone at a meeting at Bangiriposhi. 

She also laid the foundation stone for the Tribal Research and Development Centre at Rairangpur, Dandabosh Airport, and a Sub-Divisional Hospital at Bangiriposhi.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said the people of Mayurbhan and Keonjhar will get a rail communication facility when the three railway projects come up. She said the projects would also help strengthen transport and business sectors. 

The Dandabosh Airport will come up under the UDAAN Scheme. The airport will create an air connectivity to other parts of Odisha and the country. 

Regarding the Sub-Divisional Hospital, the President said the people of interior Mayurbhanj and neighboring areas will benefit from the health facility as the District Headquarters Hospital of Mayurbhanj is located at a distant place at Baripada. 

The President thanked Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for announcing to broadcast news in Santhali language on the Door Darshan in the coming days. She also thanked the Ministries of Railways, Civil Aviation and Health & Family Welfare and Odisha Government for the projects. 


The railway projects are Bangiriposh-Gorumahishani, Budhamara-Chakulia, and Badampahad- Keonjhargarh Rail Lines. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will attend the event through videoconferencing. Chief Minister Mohan Charana Majhi, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Das, Lok Sabha MP Naba Charan Majhi, and Bangiriposi MLA Sanjali Murmu will also grace the event.
