President Flags Off Three New Trains At Badampahar In Odisha

Mayurbhanj, Nov 21: President Draupadi Murmu, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, flagged off the run of three important express trains, Tatanagar- Badampahar Memu Train, Badampahar- Rourkela Express and Shalimar- Badampahar Express train, today.  

Gracing the launching ceremony at Badampahar, the President said the development of an area depends on the communication system. The Union Government continues to make efforts for the development of States. As such, the longstanding dream of the people of Mayurbhanj has been fulfilled with the run of the trains. 

Stating that birthplace is always dear and its love can't be forgotten, the President thanked the Railway Department for fulfilling the long-standing dreams of the people of Mayurbhanj. She said that the Central government has given importance to the cultural traditions of the tribals.

President Murmu also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Badampahar Railway Station.

Governor Raghubar Das, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were present. 

The President was scheduled to make a 40-minute train journey with students from Barampahar to Rairangpur.
