Pre-Poll Violence In Cuttack's Athagarh; Village Under Security Cover

Cuttack, Apr 4: An incident of pre-poll violence has disturbed villagers of Belanta in the Athagarh assembly constituency in Cuttack district. 

According to allegations, supporters of the ruling Biju Janata Dal set ablaze a widow's house because of her allegiance to another party.  The thatched house of the poor woman has been reduced to ashes. 

Reports said that all male persons had run away from the village in fear and a palpable tension continues to prevail in the habitation. The hostile situation continues to grip the village from Holi.  

Security personnel are guarding the village for 24 hours to ensure that tension doesn't escalate further.
