Bhubaneswar, June 30: The much-aspired Subhadra Yojana, under which women will be given cash vouchers of Rs 50,000 with a validity period of two years, will be launched in Odisha on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the State on the day and launch the Subhadra Yojna in the presence of women, said Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the BJP's Victory Celebration held on the Exhibition Ground today.
"We are going to execute the promise made in our manifesto in scheduled 100 days. Prime Minister will visit Odisha and launch the Subhadra Yojana on his birthday September 17. Women will be provided cash vouchers of Rs 50,000 which they can spend in two years," said Majhi.
He said the Subhadra Yojana is goint to be implemented within 100 days of the formation of the BJP government.
It may be noted that the State Cabinet approved the execution of the Subhadra Yojana in its first meeting held on the very day of the oath-taking of the Chief Minister and his Cabinet members.
Chief Minister's announcement has made women happy with many of them terming the impending support as a brother's gift to his sisters.
"The impending support of Rs 50,000 is like a gift from brother. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give the gift to us. With the gift, we can start a small business and empower ourselves," said a woman.
