Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called upon the people of Odisha to host the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025’, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on January 8-10 next year, on a grand scale and make the State a global destination for travel and tourism.

Addressing a special felicitation programme, organised by the Odisha BJP, near the Airport square in Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister said, “The next Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention will be held in Bhubaneswar from 8th-10th January 2025. People from across the world will arrive in Odisha. You will get the opportunity to welcome people from across the globe. Earlier in the G20 summit, different people have arrived in our country and took part in the global event, but now, our own people, who have been staying overseas for many years, will participate in the event here. When the Overseas Indian community will return from here, Odisha’s rich culture and heritage will be publicized across the globe. The state will become a global destination for travel and tourism.”

“I urge all of you to start preparations from now to host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on a grand scale and the event should be more excellent than the G20 summit. Let’s together enhance the pride of Odisha,” he added.

PM Modi reached Bhubaneswar on a three-day visit to the State during which he will attend the All India DGP/IGP Conference, and meet the party MLAs, MPs and Ministers.
