PM Modi Holds Mega Roadshow, Waves To Lakhs In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, May 10: Chanting of marvellous devotional song 'Aahe Nila Shaila' and 'Modi Zindabad', Odissi dance performance, the beating of traditional music, raised platforms showcasing various government schemes amid the presence of lakhs of people along the two sides of Janpath marked the roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the city this evening. 

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the airport at around 8.20 pm. He was given a grand reception by BJP leaders at the airport. 

On his arrival near the BJP State head office, the Prime Minister, clad in pyzama, jacket and BJP cap, boarded a special flower-decked vehicle and moved on the Janpath. He waved his hands holding a cutout of the BJP symbol, lotus, in one hand. 

BJP's Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha Candidate Aparajita Sarangi and BJP State president Manmohan Samal moved along with the Prime Minister.   

The PM was given a grand reception at 12 places along the Janpath. Twelve platforms were erected for showcasing welfare schemes and developmental projects done by the BJP Government at the Centre.  

The entire stretch of about 3 km of the Janpath from Ram Mandir Square to Vani Vihar Square was barricaded on the two sides for the smooth conduct of the roadshow by the Prime Minister. 

Thousands of people from across the city and far places like Cuttack, Athagarh, Dehnkanal, Sambalpur and Kendrapara thronged the capital city to have a glimpse of the Prime Minister, the most popular leader of the country. 

Folk artists like horse dancers and Paika Akhada performers performed the roadsides to greet the Prime Minister in the city. Brass artists, Pipili applique makers, painters and other artists brought gifts for the Modi. 

As many as 155 wearing Sambalpuri sarees were moving in front of the PM's vehicle.  

On the occasion, people aired their views against the BJD Government, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and VK Pandian. 

"People are suffering a lot. Odisha has been pushed into poverty during the 25 years of the BJD government. We don't want a Tamil Sarkar. We want a BJP government for development in the State," said Sunakar Sahoo who came from Athagarh. 

"I am happy to have a glimpse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," said Santosh Jena, a resident of the city. 

"As stated by the Prime Minister at Berhampur and Nabarangpur, the expiry date of the BJD is June 4. The BJP will form the government this time," said many. 

"I have trust in the Prime Minister. Modi Guarantee will work. The BJP will certainly forme the government in Odisha and youths will get job, " said a youth of the city.  

The carricade of the Prime Miniser crossed Ram Mandir Square, Kaali Mandir Square, Baya Baba Matha Square, Rama Devi University to reach Vani Vihar. A heavy security arrangement was put in place for the smooth conduct of the roadshow.
