Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Odisha to launch the State government’s flagship initiative, the Subhadra Yojana. Today is his 74th birthday.
PM Modi arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubabaneswar at 10.50 AM. He was accorded a grand welcome by Governor Raghubar Das and other dignitaries at the airport.
From the airport, the Prime Minister headed to Gadkana village on the outskirts of the State Capital, where he is scheduled to interact with the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana.
PM Modi would then reach Janata Maidan here at around 12 PM, from where he will launch the Subhadra Yojana, and unveil railway projects worth Rs 2,871 crore and highway projects worth Rs 1,000 crore
The Subhadra Yojana is the largest women-centric initiative in the state, aimed at supporting over 1 crore women.
Eligible beneficiaries between the ages of 21 and 60 will receive 50,000 rupees over a period of five years. Beneficiaries will be credited 10,000 rupees annually in two equal instalments through Aadhaar-linked, DBT-enabled bank accounts.
During the launch event, PM Modi will initiate the first fund transfer to over 10 lakh women beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation railway projects worth more than 2,800 crore rupees, today.
