Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik said Wednesday that the survey for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will be completed within two months.
Speaking on the development in this connection, Naik said that the government is awaring people about the PMAY as well as including them in the survey.
"The survey for the PMAY is underway in rural areas of Odisha. It will be completed within a couple of months," revealed the Panchayati Raj Minister.
Speaking about the process, Naik said that the state government is organising public meetings in villages to aware the people about the scheme. "We are spreading awareness through public meetings and involving them in the surveys," he explained.
The minister also said that those who have missed out on getting the facilities of PMAY despite their eligibility, will have the 'awas'. "These beneficial schemes should reach to people," said Rabi Narayan Naik.
"The assigned trainers of the department are visiting from village to villege to aware the people. Whoever has missed out or being left out for any reason, are being included," he added.
The Panchayati Raj Minister also took a dig at the previous government, led by current Leader of Opposition (LoP) and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik. "
"During the previous government, the poor had been excluded from the PMAY housing list to facilitate the ineligible and undeserved people for politics," slammed the Minister.
Naik said that the department is giving priorities to these surveys. "Whenever a Minister visits a village, he reviews the PMAY survey reports bringing transparency to the survey," said Rabi Narayan Naik.
The Panchayati Raj Minister also assured that he will speak to Union Ministers over the PMAY situation in Odisha which will be benificial for the people.
