Nuapada, Mar 3: On the occasion of World Wildlife Day, the Khariar forest Sub-Division officials have rescued a pangolin and arrested 10 people in this regard on Sunday.

In the last four months, three pangolins have been rescued by the forest deprtment.

According to the information, the Sunabeda forest is a house to many pangolins in Nuapada district. Taking an advantage of this, the Chhattisgarh mafias in the border areas of Nuapada are smuggling off the pangolins.

Besides pangolins, leopard skin was also seized from the possession of the mafias from the Khariar forest sub-division.

This has raised many questions on the wildlife situation in the forests of Sunabeda and the Nuapada district as a whole.
