Orange Warning Of Thunderstorm, Lightning Issued For Several Districts In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: The cyclonic circulation over Odisha and the neighbourhood has become less marked, informed the The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre predicted light rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning over several districts during the next 24 hours.

It also issued orange and yellow warnings of thunderstorm and lightning over several districts till 8.30 AM on May 31.

The IMD’s weather forecast for Odisha during the next two days is as follows:

Day 1 (Valid Upto 8.30 AM of March 31)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh and at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Orange Warning: (Be Prepared)
Thunderstorms with lightning and hail accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sundargarh.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of March 31 to 8.30 AM of April 1)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Jajpur and Bhadrak.

There will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 04-05 days at many places in the State, while the minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius during next 04-05 days at many places, the Met Centre said.
