Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: The opposition BJD and Congress created ruckus in the Odisha Assembly over separate issues for the third consecutive day on Thursday, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House till 4 PM.

As soon as the House assembled for the Question Hour, members of the BJD and Congress rushed to the well of the House and raised slogans against the BJP governments in the State and the Centre over multiple issues.

BJD MLAs demanded dismissal of Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan following the death of two persons and illness of 13 others after consuming spurious liquor at Chikitia area in Ganjam district.

The BJD legislators held the BJP government responsible for the death of the two people in the liquor tragedy in Ganjam.

On the other hand, the Congress members alleged that the Centre has been using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI for vested political interests.

Speaker Surama Padhy asked the opposition legislators to take their respective seats and participate in the Question hour. However, the opposition members continued to raise slogans from the well of the House.

Unable to run the House, the Speaker first adjourned the House till 11.30 AM and later till 4 PM as the din continued when the House reassembled.
