Opium Cultivation On 15 Acres In Similipal Forest Destroyed

Mayurbhanj, Mar 23: In yet another move, Excise sleuths destroyed opium plants cultivated on 15 acres of land in the Similipal forest area in Mayurbhanj district. 

The value of the destroyed opium plants in terms of money is estimated to be about Rs 10.50 crore. 

According to information, the police department had earlier written to the forest department about the illegal cultivation of opium in Similipal forest. 

A few days back, the excise sleuths had also destroyed opium plants on acres of land.
