Onion Truck Catches Fire in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj, April 1: Tonnes of onion worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes as a truck caught fire on National Highway-49 at Dwarasuni Ghati under the Bangiriposhi area in Mayurbhanj district on Monday. 

While the exact reason behind the spread of the blaze is yet to be known, the driver and the helper of the truck remained untraced by the time of the filing of this report. 

According to the information, a truck carrying several tonnes of onion was on its way from Bisoyi to Kolkata when it skidded off the road and caught fire. The blaze spread very fast, probably due to the high temperature.    

On being informed by passersby, police and fire brigades rushed to the spot and started extinguishing the fire.
