OMTA Expresses Discontentment Over Appointment Of Non-Cadre DMET

Bhubaneswar, Apr 16: The Odisha Medical College Teachers' Association (OMTA) has objected to the appointment of non-Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES) cadre officer as in-charge of Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET).

The former DMET, Professor SN Mohanty was relieved following which a non-OMES cadre officer was decided to be made the in-charge DMET by the Government.

In a letter to the Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, the members of the Odisha Medical College Teachers' Association has expressed their concern and discontentment over the said appointment. 

They have urged the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to reconsider the decision of the appointment in view of the larger interest.
