Odisha To Procure Five Royal Bengal Tigers For Debrigarh, Similipal

Bhubaneswar, July 5: Much to the happiness of animal lovers, the forest department has finalized a proposal to bring five Royal Bengal Tigers (RBTs) to the two tiger reserves in the State. 

While three RBTs will be brought for the Debrigarh sanctuary, two will be procured for the Shimilipal Tiger Reserve. The tigers will be brought from sanctuaries in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh for Debrigarh and Similipal in August and October, respectively. 

Royal Bengal Tigers of both male and female genders will be brought to enhance the tiger population in Odisha, said forest officials.
