Odisha: Telkoi MLA Premananda Nayak, Ex-MLA Rajendra Das join BJP

Bhubaneswar, Mar 4: In another jolt to Odisha's ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD), sitting Telkoi MLA Premananda Nayak and former Dhamnagar MLA Rajendra Das joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Monday ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State.

Former Bhadrak MLA Naeren Palai, who recently resigned from Congress party, also joined the BJP here today.

Nayak, Das, Paai and their supporters joined the saffron party at the Misrana Parba (joining ceremony) at the party's State headquarters here in the presence of BJP State president Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders.

Yesterday, former Minister and five-time MLA Arabinda Dhali, former BJD MLA Mukunda Sodi, retired Air Marshal Dilip Kumar Patnaik, former joint secretary in Rajya Sabha Ramakanta Das, and BJD’s Digapahandi block chairman Bipin Pradhan also joined the BJP.

Recently, two sitting BJD MLAs Pradeep Panigrahi and Prashant Jagdev also joined the BJP. Former State Minister Debasis Nayak of the BJD also switched sides.
