Odisha Records Significant Rainfall In Past 24 Hours; Balasore's Oupada Tops With 240mm Rainfall

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: Odisha has recorded significant amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours after landfall due to cyclone 'Dana' Thursday night.

According to the data, recorded from 8.30 am Friday to 8.30 am Saturday, Balasore's Oupada recorded the highest rainfall in the time frame having 240mm rainfall.

As many as four places, including Oupada, recorded more than 200mm rainfall.

In Bhadrak, Dhamnagar recorded the highest rainfall of 215mm, while Bhandaripokhari recorded 208mm rainfall. Chandbali (197mm), Bontha (187mm) and Bhadrak town (161mm) also recorded heavy rainfall.

In Balasore, Oupada topped the rainfall chart ahead of Khaira (209mm), Nilagiri (140mm), Simulia and Balasore town (114mm each), and Remuna (109mm).

Udala recorded highest rainfall in Mayurbhanj district with 141mm rainfall, while Badasahi recorded 112mm.

Jajpur too experienced heavy rainfall in several parts of the district. Dasarathpur recorded 196mm, while Bari (146mm), Jajpur town (143mm) and Binjharpur (110mm) too experienced heavy rain.

In Kendrapara, Rajkanika topped the rainfall chart with 151mm rainfall, while Aul recorded 123mm rainfall.

Kantapada recorded highest rainfall in Cuttack district with 146mm, followed by Cuttack city (137mm), Nischintakoili (133mm) and Salepur (110mm).
