Aska, Oct 13: More than 15 shops were gutted after a huge fire broke out at a vegetable market here in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday night.

After getting information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after hours-long operation.

The reason for the fire was not immediately known as the shops were closed for Dussehra celebrations.

According to sources, the shop owners performed puja on the occasion of Dusshera. Locals suspected that the lamps used during the puja might be the reason for the fire mishap.

The fire services officials said that the cause of the fire is not yet known, and further investigation is underway.
