Odisha Govt To Introduce New Uniform For Class IX, X Students

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: Odisha government has finalized a new uniform for Class IX and X students of government and aided schools under Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana, officials said on Tuesday. 

“…… the Government have been pleased to approve the final design and colour of uniform for the Secondary school students in Government & Government Aided schools under Mukhyamantri Chhatra Chhatri Paridhan Yojana (copy enclosed). The new design may be implemented in schools where uniforms in the old design have not been stitched/distributed,” reads an official communique.

As per changes to the dress code and designs of the uniforms, the boys will wear checkered light brown shirts and maroon pants while girls will wear checkered kurta with maroon jacket and salwar.

In 2023, the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government introduced green colour uniforms for the high school students, inviting criticism from every quarters as the green colour is associated with BJD.
