Odisha CM Majhi Arrives At His Hometown, Holds Roadshow

Keonjhar, June 24: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who is on a two-day visit to Keonjhar, arrived at his native place Raikala through a special helicopter. 

This is his first visit to his native place after forming government in Odisha.

After arriving, CM Majhi held a mega roadshow before addressing a public meeting in Raikala.

After the public meeting, he will return to Raikala, where he will listen and discuss about the locals' grievances at a temporary office. He will then return to Bhubaneswar by the special helicopter.

CM Majhi's Day 1 In Keonjhar At A Glance

CM Majhi had landed in a special helicopter at a temporary helipad in the Ghatgaon High School field with a rousing reception, Sunday morning.

Majhi, known as 'The People's CM', then had a roadshow en route to Maa Tarini Pitha in Ghatgaon. After his visit to Maa Tarini Pitha, Majhi made an announcement to the delight of Keonjhar citizens.

Majhi announced additional grant of Rs 50 crore for the Maa Tarini Pitha. Notably, an identical amount has been granted earlier for the said place and development works are underway, thus making the total grant amounts to be a staggering Rs 100 crore.

"The Maa Tarini Pitha will  become a national level tourist destination. I will send a proposal on this regard to Centre," said CM Majhi to the delight of people before announcing the additional grant.

He also said that in coming days, Maa Tarini will be worshipped as national Goddess and with her blessings, Keonjhar will be known as "Golden Keonjhar".

After wrapping up his Maa Tarini Pitha visit, he had headed to Keonjhar Stadium for a public meeting, where he took a dig at the former government, led by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik. "I am not the Chief Minister, but your chief servant," said CM Majhi, promising the development of Keonjhar.
